Job summary

Yale New Haven Health in Connecticut is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmaceutical services across patient care units. You will pick, prepare, package, label, and deliver medications, maintain inventory, and ensure accurate storage and timely distribution.

You will work with pharmacists, nursing and ancillary staff, using ADS, barcode scanning, and inventory software, while upholding HIPAA guidelines, safety standards, and quality control. On-call shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college training preferred.
• Successful completion of a pharmacy technician training course is preferred.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick, prepare, package, label, and deliver medications to patient care units.
• Maintain adequate medication inventory and manage par levels.
• Utilize bar code scanning and automated dispensing systems for medication tracking.
• Assist pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care and rapid replenishment of emergency carts.
• Communicate with nursing, providers, and staff while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Identify and elevate concerns related to medication distribution and safety.
