Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in formulation, preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications within a hospital setting. You will operate EDDS systems (e.g., Omnicell) for inventory control and prepare IV admixtures using sterile technique under pharmacist direction.

The role requires an RI license, 1–2 years of college, and basic computer skills. Shift flexibility includes day/evening with potential on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of one to two years of college preferred.
• Maintains current Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician license.
• Possesses National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or starts within 6 months and completes within 12 months.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in formulation, preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications.
• Operate electronic drug dispensing system (EDDS) such as Omnicell and manage inventory.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures using aseptic techniques.
• Label and package medications with correct expiration dating.
• Participate in quality improvement and medication safety initiatives.
