Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in the formulation, preparation, dispensing, and delivery of medications in a hospital setting on the Providence campus. Under supervision of a pharmacist and technician leadership, you will help manage EDDS, IV admixtures, and inventory while adhering to policy and safety standards.

This role requires Rhode Island licensure, CPhT certification, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of one to two years of college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review practitioner medication orders and prepare medications for pharmacist review.
• Operate electronic drug dispensing system (EDDS) for inventory control and distribution.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures including chemotherapy and pediatric infusions using aseptic technique.
• Repackage and label non-sterile pharmaceutical products per formulation records.
• Manage controlled substances inventory and discrepancy resolution with other licensed staff.
• Deliver medications to clinics, operating rooms and patient care areas; retrieve orders and prepare emergency kits.
