Job summary

Medical City Dallas, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to perform advanced and basic technician functions in a hospital setting, including ADCs, monthly inspections, accurate calculations, sterile compounding, and aseptic technique for parenteral admixtures.

The role requires national certification (PTCB or NHA) and Texas State Board registration, with IV certification preferred and IV room experience a plus.

Qualifications

• National Certification required
• Texas State Board registration required
• IV certification preferred
• IV room experience preferred
• 1-3 years hospital experience preferred
• Associate's degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
• Accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage area inspections
• Accurately performs required calculations
• Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures
• Uses aseptic techniques in parenteral compounding
• Complies with USP 795, 797, 800 daily/monthly requirements
• Identifies issues, prioritizes workload and communicates findings
• Completes education requirements to maintain competency
• Interacts with hospital personnel in person and by phone
• Performs other duties as assigned

Skills
