Job summary

Medical City Decatur, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital-based team. You will process medication orders, compound IV admixtures, assist pharmacists, and help ensure safe, accurate dispensing under strict policies.

Candidates should have a Pharmacy Technician license, CPhT with IV certification, and hospital experience; an Associate degree is preferred. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or GED
• Pharmacy Technician license required
• CPhT with IV certification preferred
• 1 year hospital pharmacy tech experience including sterile compounding

Responsibilities

• Process medication orders or prescriptions; accurately compound medications and IV admixtures.
• Operate and follow policies for storage, preparation, dispensing, labeling and controlled substances reconciliation.
• Assist pharmacists in patient, physician and nursing education.
• Retrieve drug information and support pharmacotherapy for patients.
• Collect patient data to aid pharmacotherapy design and monitoring.
• Publish and distribute department newsletters and notices.
• Support management and contribute to department goals.
• Manage time and resources to complete tasks effectively.
• Maintain professional conduct and customer focus; uphold attendance and punctuality.
• Contribute to policy implementation and department objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
