Qualifications

• Registered as Pharmacy Technician in Florida.
• Graduate of an approved pharmacy certification course.
• Three years of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Knowledge of IV admixture and unit dose preparation preferred.
• Knowledge of metric system of measurement and basic math.

Responsibilities

• Answers the phone according to department standards with excellent customer service.
• Prepares and delivers medications to designated Nursing Units in a timely manner.
• Completes periodic area inspections to remove outdated medications.
• Receives daily shipments and reports medication barcodes into the designated computer system.
• Assists with stocking, cleaning, and organizing the storage room.
• Prepares medications for patient use from stock and bulk supply, including IV admixtures.
