Qualifications

• Florida Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing.
• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Three years hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner.
• Experience with IV admixture and unit-dose meds preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and provide customer service per departmental standards.
• Prepare and deliver medications to Nursing Units promptly.
• Maintain active participation in Lean committee initiatives.
• Complete periodic area inspections for removal of outdated medications.
• Receive daily shipments and report medication barcodes into the designated system.
• Assist with stocking, cleaning, and organizing the storage room.
• Prepare medications for patient use from stock and bulk supply.
• Prepare IV admixtures and large-volume IV medications using proper aseptic technique.
• Prepare Parenteral Nutrition, Chemotherapy, OR and Cardiovascular trays.
• Weigh, count, and label medications for pharmacist check.
