Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a pharmacy technician to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and supporting daily operations in a hospital setting.

You will handle IV mixtures, unit dose packaging, and order processing, with emphasis on accuracy, communication, and teamwork.

This role requires a high school diploma, hospital tech experience, and licensure (CPhT and Texas Registered).

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; College preferred.
• Experience: 1 year of experience as hospital tech required; 2 years preferred.
• CPhT and Texas Registered required; IV Certified preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares IV mixtures according to established procedures.
• Picks up orders and medications for return from patient care areas.
• Checks areas of responsibility for outdated Medications and adequate levels of stock.
• Maintains a good working relationship with other departments.
• Fills patient medication drawers and unit dose Medication orders.
• Fills automated dispensing machines and other unit supplies.
• Makes deliveries to patient care areas.
• Enters charges and credits.
• Unpacks and stocks orders
• Prepackages bulk medication to unit dose or IV bulk products to syringes.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers to ensure understanding of customer needs and activities.
• Frequently offers assistance to others in need.
• Actively participates in team meetings and often offers suggestions on how to improve the services provided.
