Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to optimize patient care in a hospital setting, oversee the drug-use process, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, cost-effective therapies.

You will supervise pharmacy technicians, support staff, and students, participate in medication safety initiatives, and provide drug information while maintaining regulatory compliance and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• PharmD or PharmD-equivalent degree.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in PA and/or NY within 120 days of hire.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and conduct prospective drug review to prevent and resolve drug-related problems.
• Provide accurate drug information to health professionals, patients and public; document interventions.
• Assist department management by supervising technicians, students and externs; oversee inventory and controlled substances compliance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment; handle patient and staff inquiries.
• Participate in performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts; promote a culture of safety.
• Serve as the night pharmacist and coordinate nightly activities, troubleshooting IT and automation issues.
