Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Pharmacist to optimize patient care through dispensing, IV admixture, and drug information services. The role includes monitoring therapy, implementing interventions, and supporting a safe, cost-effective pharmaceutical program.

You will supervise technicians and students, assist the department manager, and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations while maintaining efficient department operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D).
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in PA and/or NY at hire or sit for boards and obtain licensure within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions: Conducts prospective drug review on all prescriptions processed; identify, prevent and resolve drug related problems; ensure safe, accurate and cost-effective therapies.
• Drug information and patient interventions: Provide accurate drug information; document interventions and outcomes; collaborate with healthcare team on drug protocols.
• Assist in department management: Supervise and direct work of pharmacy staff; train staff and students; oversee inventory and controlled substances compliance.
• Work environment: Support department operations; maintain clean, orderly environment; handle telephones and labeling tasks.
• Safety: Participate in performance improvement and regulatory compliance; promote an environment of safety.
• Night pharmacist duties: Triages and delegates nightly activities; interface to resolve medication problems; troubleshoot IT and automation issues.
