Allegheny Health Network is seeking a pharmacist to optimize patient care through drug dispensing, information, and therapy monitoring. The role includes supervising technicians, residents, and students, while ensuring compliance with regulations and inventory control.

The pharmacist will review prescriptions for safety and cost-effectiveness, provide timely drug information, and participate in department management and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree (PharmD or B.Pharm) and licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in PA/NY within 120 days.
• Licensed or eligible for Pharmacy licensure in PA/NY at hire or after boards.

Responsabilités

• Process prescriptions with prospective drug review to identify and resolve drug-related problems; ensure safe, accurate, and cost-effective therapies.
• Provide accurate drug information to health professionals, patients, and the public; document interventions and outcomes.
• Assist in department management; supervise pharmacy staff, oversee inventory, and ensure regulatory compliance for controlled substances.
• Contribute to department operations, including computer functions, labeling, refills, and phone handling; maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Promote safety and compliance; participate in performance improvement activities and regulatory requirements.
• Night pharmacist duties may include triaging and delegating nightly activities and resolving medication-related problems between pharmacy and nursing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
