Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a pharmacist to optimize patient care through rational, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy. The role includes staffing duties, drug therapy monitoring, formulary reviews, and implementing interventions to reduce adverse events.

The position also involves education of pharmacy staff, residents, and healthcare providers, participation in rounds, and development of pharmaceutical programs aligned with department goals.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure in PA or eligibility with licensure within 120 days.
• Pharmacy residency completed or 2 years of demonstrated clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs functions of a pharmacist per the pharmacist job description (50%).
• Provides clinical support functions, design and implementation of drug use evaluations including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Participates in educational program for healthcare professionals including nurses, medical staff, pharmacy residents and pharmacists; participates in medical rounds with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides input in planning pharmaceutical programs to meet department and organizational goals; designs and coordinates programs, services and initiatives.
• Promotes interdisciplinary teamwork by serving on committees and task forces.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D)
