Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. manages the pharmacy at PAM Specialty Hospital of Sarasota. We are currently recruiting for a part time Pharmacist to work 24 hours/week (3 shifts/week) during facility hours and on call as needed.

The Pharmacist II adjusts and dispenses medications, verifies orders, and supervises Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance with accreditation, narcotics control, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
• Must be a good standing licensed Pharmacist in Florida.
• Inpatient/hospital experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and to stand for a shift.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders for medications using the pharmacy information system.
• Supervises Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Adjusts dosages based on established protocols for each drug.
• Educates patients on proper use and effects of medications.
• Manages narcotics, inventory control and regulatory compliance.
• Contacts Nurses and Physicians to verify orders and obtain info.
• Assists the Pharmacy Director in accreditation maintenance and systems changes.
• Other duties as assigned.
