Job summary

Cardinal Health manages a hospital system pharmacy at PAM Specialty Hospital of Rocky Mount, NC. We are hiring a full-time Pharmacist II to work during facility hours and on call, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm and after-hours on call.

The Pharmacist II verifies orders, dispenses medications, and leads the pharmacy team to maintain accreditation, narcotics control, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
• Licensed Pharmacist in North Carolina in good standing.
• Hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• IV compounding experience preferred.
• Clear communication with patients and healthcare staff.
• Strong customer service and computer literacy.
• On-call availability and ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to work on call rotations and stand for shifts.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and adjust dosages per protocols using the pharmacy information system.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and ensure compliance with state regulations.
• Adjust dosages based on patient condition and antimicrobial stewardship guidelines.
• Educate patients on medication use and expected effects, especially during transitions.
• Manage narcotics, inventory control, and compliance tasks.
• Coordinate with Nurses and Physicians to verify orders and gather information.
• Assist Pharmacy Director with accreditation and implementation of new systems.
