Job summary

Lakeview Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PBX Operator PRN to support patient care and hospital communications in Bountiful, Utah. You will handle calls, greet visitors, manage paging, monitor security, assist with registration, and support after-hour medical record requests.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, English proficiency, and composure under pressure, with flexible on-call hours to assist the 24/7 hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Some previous switchboard and receptionist experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English; good verbal and written skills required.
• Must be patient and courteous at all times, even under stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Receive, screen, and transfer incoming hospital calls.
• Greet and direct patients and visitors.
• Facilitate the overhead paging system and direct communications across the facility.
• Stand-by to provide notifications of emergency codes and alarms.
• Provide visual surveillance by monitoring security cameras and report suspicious activity.
• Assist with patient registration as needed and perform minor secretarial duties.
• Handle emergent and stat medical record requests for after-hours offices and ER/urgent care.
