Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to support accurate, timely employee pay and records. You will process payroll, manage data changes, and collaborate with HR and management to ensure correct compensation.

Responsibilities include biweekly Kronos timesheet processing, off-cycle payments, payroll adjustments, and reporting. You will safeguard confidential information and assist with audits and inquiries within a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years hospital payroll experience required.
• Proficiency with Excel, timesheets, payroll adjustments, and strong communication.
• Fire Life Safety Training within 30 days (LA City) if not already obtained.

Responsibilities

• Process hospital biweekly Kronos timesheets per policy.
• Handle prior pay period adjustments including overpayments.
• Enter off-cycle checks in Kronos historical records.
• Process payroll payments or deductions (bonuses, LOA pay, merit).
• Communicate with staff regarding payroll and union contracts.
• Answer questions from employees, managers, and directors about salaries.
• Prepare Excel spreadsheets for HR on off-cycle payments.
• Coordinate with HR on payroll information changes.
• Check payroll data for accuracy and proper paperwork.
• Produce reports for upper management on request.
• Work with authorities on audits or requests.
• Analyze payroll information and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain hospital and regulatory records.
• Calculate termination checks with University Payroll coordination.
• Perform other payroll duties and assist with projects.
