Job summary

Hudson Regional Health is seeking an Inpatient Transport Dispatcher to coordinate and dispatch patient transport requests across hospital departments. The role serves as the central point of communication among nursing units, clinical departments, transport personnel, and hospital operations.

Responsibilities include prioritizing requests, assigning transport tasks, tracking transporter availability, and communicating delays or changes to care teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional coursework or training in healthcare operations, logistics, dispatching, or customer service preferred.
• Prior dispatching, hospital operations, patient transportation, call center, or related coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, enter, and prioritize inpatient transportation requests through the hospital's designated dispatch system.
• Dispatch transport personnel based on patient location, priority, and transporter availability.
• Monitor active assignments and transporter status to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate patient transports to and from inpatient units, ED, imaging, and other locations.
• Communicate with nursing units and staff regarding pickup locations, delays, and changes.
