RWJBarnabas Health in Belleville, NJ is seeking a Part-Time Dispatcher in the Patient Transport team to coordinate wheelchairs and stretchers across Clara Maass Medical Center. You will assign transports, communicate with nursing staff, and ensure timely patient movement from admission to discharge.

The role requires a High School Diploma and hospital patient transport experience; prior dispatch experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Hospital Patient Transport experience.
• Preferred: Prior Dispatch experience.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and prioritizes patient tests and distributes to transporter in a timely manner.
• Coordinates patient tests in scheduled areas and informs departments of any changes.
• Coordinate transporters' breaks and follow the proper chain of command when disciplinary action is needed by staff.
• Assist nursing personnel in moving patients into a chair or onto a stretcher following standard procedures.
• Follows appropriate patient identification procedures to assure transport of proper patient.
• Answers patients' questions during transport in a courteous manner and informs authorities of any concerns.
