Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Transport Dispatcher to manage dispatch operations for patient movement within the hospital and outpatient clinics. You will coordinate wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, or gurneys to ensure patient safety and timely transport across Parkland facilities.

Applicants should have 2+ years as a patient transporter, healthcare experience preferred, and current CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years as a patient transporter, preferably in healthcare.
• CPR-Heart Saver or equivalent within 90 days of hire/placement.

Responsibilities

• Dispatches assigned staff in coordination with Patient Transport leadership.
• Utilizes EPIC Transport Dashboard to dispatch transporters hospital-wide.
• Train new employees on policies, infection control, and customer relations.
• Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians and staff to ensure timely transportation.
• Ensure patient safety and smooth throughput for discharges and transfers.
