Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a Patient Flow Manager in Hartford, CT to lead a team of Patient Flow Coordinators and Transporters in a hospital setting.

You will apply knowledge of patient transport concepts, infection control, dispatcher logic, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure efficient patient movement and safe operations. This role also involves budget awareness and staff development.

Qualifications

• Management experience in hospital environment and/or patient transportation.
• Analytical ability to interpret statistical data and to distinguish trends and other factors that impact operational activity.
• Basic computer skills with Windows based Operating System; ability to troubleshoot system problems related to computer or software systems and initiate internal or external resolution to system issues.
• Associate’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of Patient Flow Coordinators and Transporters within a hospital setting.
• Applies knowledge of patient transport concepts, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics.
• Develops dispatcher logic and supervises dispatcher and transporter activities.
• Coordinates Patient Transportation activities with other departments and develops service agreements as appropriate.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies including Federal, State, JCAHO, OSHA, and CDC.
• Trains and develops all levels of personnel such as dispatchers, trainers, transporters, couriers, drivers, and elevator operators.
• Assists unit director in achieving financial objectives and manages department budget and expenses.
