Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Patient Flow Director at Kent Hospital to coordinate patient placement, optimize throughput and support timely discharges. You will work closely with Nursing, EVS, transport and staffing to meet unit and department admission criteria.

The role oversees the Nursing Supervisor staff and Float Pool, develops policy on patient flow, and leads daily bed meetings and management huddles.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred and RI nursing licensure required.
• BLS certification required; leadership certification preferred.
• Extensive nursing leadership experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow to assure timely placement and discharges.
• Lead daily bed meetings and provide clinical guidance on admissions.
• Oversee Nursing Supervisor staff, staffing office, and Float Pool.
• Develop policies and procedures related to patient flow.
• Communicate with physicians, nursing, and administration during high census.
