Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Edison, NJ is seeking a Patient Placement Coordinator to support efficient patient flow and safe placement decisions. You will collaborate with Capacity Managers, nursing leadership and ED teams to coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers.

The role requires strong computer skills, familiarity with hospital systems, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. You will monitor patient movement, communicate updates, and contribute to a patient-centered

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel and basic keyboarding.
Minimum 2 years experience in a medical hospital setting.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Capacity Managers and ED leadership to ensure patient placement.
Maintains ongoing communication to sustain patient flow.
Uses tools to monitor and promote patient movement.
Ensures accurate admission, discharge, and transfer data.
Works with computer applications, phone systems, and patient tracking tools.
Interacts with nursing, physicians, EVS, transport, and leaders with strong customer service.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Adheres to organizational competencies and standards.
