Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring a Patient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) for Ballad Health – Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, VA. The role features full-time 12-hour shifts (6:00 am–7:00 pm) with rotating weekends/holidays and requires prior food service experience.

The position involves menu assistance, tray assembly, and coordination with nursing and culinary teams to ensure accurate meals that meet nutritional requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for allergies, cultural, ethnic or religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s selection; retrieve trays on time.
• Comply with federal, state and JCAHO/ HIPAA requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians with patients on restricted or monitored diets.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports as per Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Adhere to health and sanitation regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
