Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, and push carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand menu selections and coordinate with nursing on nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for allergies, cultural or religious preferences.
• Assemble meals according to patient selections and retrieve trays on time.
• Comply with federal, state, JCAHO and HIPAA policies; maintain confidentiality.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians with patients on liquid diets or calorie-controlled plans.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel.
• Complete daily, weekly or monthly reports as required.
• Adhere to health and sanitation regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
