Summa Health in Akron, OH seeks a Hospital Office Associate for Cooper Infusion to handle receptionist tasks, patient check-in, appointment scheduling, and basic clerical duties. Acts as initial contact for Patient Access Services: verify insurance, service registration, and copay collection.

Role requires one year in a clinic/medical office and familiarity with CPT/ICD10 codes; proficiency with Soarian, EPIC, or HER is a plus. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant/Medical Office/Billing classes preferred.
• One year of clinic/medical office experience with insurance verification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; CPT/ICD10 knowledge helpful.
• Proficient in basic PC software and department systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive and transfer incoming calls; greet visitors and check in patients.
• Schedule appointments and perform general clerical duties.
• Verify insurance, registration, and collect copays.
• Submit billing to payers accurately and timely.
• Maintain data sets and operate department software.
• Communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
