Job summary

Advocate Health Care's Food and Nutrition department seeks a Lead Food Service Supervisor to manage daily operations and guide a team of cooks, diet office staff, and service workers. You will assign shifts, ensure compliance with safety and health standards, and support training and hiring efforts.

The role requires strong leadership, HACCP knowledge, and experience with POS systems in a healthcare setting. Weekend availability and rotating schedules may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3-4 years in a lead/supervisory role in a healthcare environment.
• Current or within 6 months: State of Illinois or Wisconsin Department of Public Health Food Service Manager Sanitation License.
• ServSafe Certification and CPDH Certification for Chicago city limits.
• POS and cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily operations of the Food Service Team, including cooks, diet office, production, and food service workers.
• Assign and monitor staff schedules to meet workload demands.
• Participate in peer interviewing for new team members and make hiring recommendations.
• Train team in food production, sanitation standards, and safety procedures.
• Ensure recipes, production sheets, and temperature logs are maintained.
• Adhere to Board of Health standards for food storage and receiving.
• Conduct daily safety and sanitation inspections with corrective actions.
• Participate in QMS/PI program and document temperatures and quality indicators.
