The position requires a high school diploma or GED and experience in a customer-service environment, with preferred experience in law enforcement or private security.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• CPR certification within 90 days of start date.
• Valid Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification Card within 90 days of start date.
• A valid driver’s license is required; evidence of automobile liability coverage may be requested.
• IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification within twelve months of hire (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas of facilities and grounds on foot or by vehicle.
• Investigates unusual occurrences and reports incidents or losses.
• Provides escort to patients, visitors, and staff when needed.
• Directs vehicle traffic around hospital facilities to prevent congestion.
• Issues parking citations and maintains records of citations.
• Restraints unruly individuals when necessary and coordinates with police for removal and testimony.
