Job summary

Trinity Health in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a dedicated Night Shift Security Officer to ensure safety for staff, patients, and visitors. You will enforce hospital policies, patrol the premises, assist with patient restraints, and coordinate with law enforcement when needed.

The role requires strong de-escalation skills, valid Michigan driver’s license, and completion of internal security trainings (CPI, PPCT, CPR) within the first 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months in a customer service-related role with strong communication and de-escalation skills.
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license with insurable record.
• Ability to complete training in chemical agent sprays, restraints, PPCT, CPI, and other defensive tactics.
• No criminal record.

Responsibilities

• Intervenes with disorderly individuals using non-violent crisis intervention.
• Assists nursing staff with patient restraints and management of combative patients.
• Performs vehicle parking lot patrols and security escorts.
• Greets and directs customers, visitors, patients and colleagues throughout the hospital.
• Interacts with law enforcement at various levels.
• Responds to alarms and documents incidents.
