Job summary

Munising Memorial is seeking a dedicated purchasing/inventory professional to manage the hospital's inventory and procurement processes. You will oversee the purchasing and materials department, coordinate with managers on usage, and negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effective supply of products and services.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work autonomously when needed, with occasional travel for supplier meetings and inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Computer and information systems knowledge required.
• 1+ years’ experience in purchasing or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own purchasing and materials department oversight.
• Coordinate with department managers on inventory levels and utilization.
• Anticipate supply chain disruptions and mitigate issues.
• Receive and check deliveries in a timely manner.
• Create purchase orders and obtain sign-off.
• Research new products at administration/manager requests.
• Negotiate pricing contracts with vendors.
• Maintain loading dock and storage areas; keep area organized.
• Coordinate deliveries to all department areas.
• Manage inter-office mail and outgoing packages.
• Perform annual hospital inventory counts.
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
• Travel occasionally; reimbursed mileage.
