Job summary

Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron, SD, is seeking a Manager of Materials Management to lead purchasing, inventory, and distribution across the facility. You will develop standards, supervise storage, and ensure cost-effective procurement aligned with quality and efficiency.

This role reports to the Vice President of Finance and requires strong negotiating, analytical, and communication skills; experience with hospital supply chains and Cerner is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires strong numerical aptitude for cost analysis and budgeting.
• Proficient computer skills and data entry.
• Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
• Ability to operate a forklift for unloading freight.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and administers a coordinated supply program across departments.
• Negotiates best price and terms for supplies, equipment, and services.
• Creates and enforces policies for Purchasing, Inventory Control, Receiving, Storage, Distribution, and Materials Processing.
• Reviews requisitions for capital equipment and service contracts within approved budgets.
• Provides administrative support to VP of Finance with reports and budgets.
• Manages perpetual inventory and coordinates timely distribution across the facility.
• Assists Directors with budget pricing on equipment and vendor coordination.
