Job summary

DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital is seeking a Plant Ops/Facilities technician to perform routine repair, maintenance and limited new construction of woodwork, equipment and fixtures. You will read blueprints, measure materials, and operate powered machinery as needed.

Responsibilities include repairing partitions and shelving, installing locks and hardware, and ensuring safety and quality in all tasks. A high school diploma plus trade school or eight years related experience are required;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from a trade or vocational school or eight years related experience.
• Experience as a locksmith is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repair, maintenance and limited new construction of woodwork, equipment and fixtures.
• Read blueprints, calculate material quantities and order supplies as needed.
• Operate powered machinery (saws, planers, sanders) and install locks/hardware.
• Erect/repair partitions, shelving and perform door hardware tasks.
• Follow safety procedures and ensure quality finishes.
