Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.
• Availability to work at other draw stations.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and other shifts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with LIS/HIS computer procedures.
• Quality assurance knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
• Prepare specimens for analysis.
• Coordinate couriers and routes; follow up on delays.
• Triage lab samples and verify information.
• Enter and verify patient and test data in the computer.
• Generate labels and deliver specimens.
• Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage.
• Document draws and test status.
