Job summary

Ideal candidates have 2+ years phlebotomy experience, familiarity with LIS/HIS, and ability to work weekends. This role requires attention to QA practices and data entry accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience in a high-volume lab (post CPT certificate).
• Ability to work at other draw stations as needed.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
• Prepare specimens for analysis.
• Assist in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays.
• Triage lab samples after verification of information.
• Enter and verify patient/test info into computer.
• Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas.
• Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage.
• Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens.
