Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles is seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician II for per diem Support Services. You will triage lab samples, centrifuge, aliquot, and prepare specimens for referral labs or storage. Duties include data entry, labeling, and assisting with transport and equipment operation.

Rotating weekend shifts from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with ad-hoc schedules as needed, and the opportunity to train new staff while maintaining PM charts across the health system.

Qualifications

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician II credential required.
• Experience handling lab specimens, centrifugation, aliquoting, and specimen labeling beneficial.
• Ability to accurately enter patient/test data into computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Triage lab samples and requests after information verification.
• Centrifuge, measure, and aliquot or preserve samples as needed.
• Enter and verify patient/test info in the computer system.
• Generate labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas.
• Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage.
• File department documents in order.
• Maintain PM charts and support specimen transport throughout the health system.
• Perform phlebotomy on in- and outpatients following established procedures.
• Operate laboratory equipment and assist in training new employees.
