Job summary

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Active California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or II license required for phlebotomy.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• BLS certification within forty-five days of hire and maintained current, according to hospital requirement.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical laboratory experience performing similar job functions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytical and clerical duties under supervision.
• Handle specimen collection and phlebotomy per license.
• Assist in pathology, microbiology, hematology, chemistry, and blood bank as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organize storage areas.
• Serve as runner to support laboratory workflow and specimen movement.
• Assist Pathology with pre-analytical and clerical tasks under supervision.
