Job summary

The State of Nebraska is looking for a dependable Food Service Worker/Cook at Lincoln Regional Center in Lincoln, NE. You will prepare, cook and serve meals, maintain a clean kitchen, and follow safety standards as part of a healthcare food service team.

Starting pay is $18.478/hour plus a $3.00/hour facility differential, with shift differentials for eligible evening hours. Must be 18+ and able to lift up to 40 pounds; weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation or kitchen operations in a food service setting.
• Preferred: institutional kitchen experience (hospital, long-term care, school, etc).
• Must be 18+ and able to stand for 4 hours and lift up to 40 pounds; weekend/holiday work required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals including special diets.
• Independently manage daily kitchen operations during shifts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Wash dishes, cookware and equipment.
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow food safety, sanitation and infection control procedures.
