Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Cook in Lincoln, NE to prepare and deliver nutritious meals for residents in a skilled nursing facility. You will follow dietary guidelines, accommodate special diets, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

You will work with the dietary team and participate in ongoing training to stay current with food safety standards and best practices. This role includes weekend rotation and both full-time and part-time options.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or degree preferred.
• Proven cook experience, ideally in healthcare or institutional settings.
• Must be able to lift and stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals per planned menus and dietary guidelines.
• Adhere to standardized recipes and portion controls.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety practices.
• Adjust meals for dietary restrictions and resident preferences.
• Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to review menus and resident needs.
• Keep records of temperatures, portions, and dietary modifications.
• Participate in ongoing training on food safety and trends.
