Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a kitchen support teammate to assist the cook with production and service for patients, cafeteria and special functions. You will help prepare and assemble food items according to quality standards and modified diet requirements, while maintaining cleanliness and infection control practices in a hospital kitchen.

The role requires the ability to read and follow directions, basic math, and at least six months of food service experience; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred.
  • On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Experience in food safety and sanitation is appreciated.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the cook with production and service for patients, cafeteria, vending and special functions.
  • Prepares and assembles food items in a timely manner according to quality standards.
  • May carry out floor stocking duties and weigh ingredients as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and follow policies on food safety.
  • Possibly assists in cafeterias and room service, and helps with grocery stocking.
