Spectrum Health in Michigan seeks a Cook to support hot and cold meal preparation across hospital dining, room service, and grab & go venues. You will handle line cooking, prep, vegetable prep, catering, and mise en place while maintaining high standards of taste and safety.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, vocational training, and at least 2 years in food service. CRT certifications and baking education are preferred; part-time shifts available with block scheduling.

• Strong emphasis on food safety, sanitation, and hygiene
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and team environment

Responsabilidades

• Performs hot food preparation including frying, baking, broiling, braising and grilling.
• Prepares soups, cereals, eggs, entrees, vegetables, and other food items as necessary.
• Monitors food quantity needs as customer counts vary.
• Assembles and prepares ingredients for cooking by cleaning and cutting.
• Follows standardized recipes, calculating ingredients based on weight and volume.
• Monitors food quality, taste, texture and presentation; maintains temperatures.
• Records temperatures on log sheets; replaces items not meeting standards.
• Stores and labels food items; uses leftovers within allotted time.
• Sets up steam tables for patient and cafeteria lines.
• Communicates with staff to ensure continuity of services.
