Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cook I at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital – Mount Vernon to prepare, portion, cook and present a variety of hot and cold dishes for all meals and events. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, following Sodexo’s culinary standards for quality, safety and sanitation while maintaining an organized workstation.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 0–2 years of related experience, and the ability to read recipes and follow directions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current guidelines to ensure quality service.
• Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, cooking, and serving foods.
• Taste products, estimate requirements, check production, and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other mobility required.
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds (50 occasionally).
• Attend scheduled shifts on time and complete duties as assigned.
