Job summary

Sodexo at LARNED State Hospital is seeking a Cook I to prepare, portion, cook and present a variety of hot and cold items for meals and events, following Sodexo’s culinary standards for quality, presentation, and safety.

In a fast-paced kitchen, you will ensure all items are produced safely and efficiently, maintain sanitation, and support kitchen teammates. A high school diploma and 0–2 years in food service are typical, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to recipes and standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow guidelines for cooking, seasoning, and presenting dishes.
• Estimate food requirements and manage production accordingly.
• Maintain clean and organized workstation and adhere to safety protocols.
• Work in a fast-paced kitchen and support team effectively.
