Job summary

AMN Healthcare Leadership Solutions | B.E. Smith is seeking an Interim Chef Manager to lead daily culinary operations in a hospital Food and Nutrition Services department in Western Massachusetts. You will collaborate with Dietitians and clinical teams to deliver nutritious meals and manage room service and patient dining.

The role requires a 5+ year management background in culinary settings and a relevant degree. Start date is ASAP, with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates and/or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, food service management, or other related field is required.
• A minimum of five years’ experience of relative management is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily culinary operations within a hospital Food and Nutrition Services department, ensuring high-quality, appealing, and patient-centered meals across patient, staff, and visitor dining.
• Partner with Registered Dietitians and clinical teams to deliver safe, nutritionally appropriate meals while supporting therapeutic diets, room service, and specialized dining needs.
• Lead, develop, and engage culinary and food service teams, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, service excellence, and continuous professional growth.
• Champion food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance while maintaining consistently high standards for food quality, presentation, temperature, and production.
• Drive operational and financial performance through effective menu planning, inventory management, purchasing, productivity, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on culinary innovation, healthy dining and sustainability initiatives, patient satisfaction, and strategic opportunities to elevate the overall dining experience.
• Must be available to start within 2–3 weeks of acceptance.
