Job summary

County of Ventura is seeking an Air Conditioning/Heating Mechanic to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems at the Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital. The role involves coordinating preventive maintenance, interpreting schematics, and working with other trades on large projects.

The position requires journeyman experience or a related certificate, willingness to lift up to 50 lbs, and a valid CA driver’s license.

Qualifications

Three (3) years of journeyman level experience in modern refrigeration, air conditioning and heating systems, installation and repairs.
Certificate of completion from a community college or trades school in advanced air conditioning (if applicable).

Responsibilities

Installs, maintains, repairs and operates refrigeration, air conditioning and heating systems and related equipment at Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital.
Coordinates preventive maintenance and repairs; interprets drawings and schematics and prepares estimates.
Drives county vehicle to respond to maintenance issues and coordinates with Building Maintenance on major projects.
