Job summary

County of Ventura is seeking an Air Conditioning/Heating Mechanic to perform skilled installation and repair of modern refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment across the Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital.

The role requires journeyman-level experience or related certification, with responsibilities including preventive maintenance, interpreting drawings, and coordinating with building maintenance teams. This position offers benefits and overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

Three (3) years journeyman level experience in refrigeration, air conditioning and heating systems.
Certificate in advanced air conditioning from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

Installs, maintains, repairs and/or operates refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating systems and related control systems at Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital.
Coordinates preventive maintenance and repairs with other staff.
Interprets drawings and schematics, prepares sketches, estimates costs.
Drives county vehicle between hospitals to respond to maintenance issues.
Performs other related duties as required.
