Job summary

Ventura County is seeking an Air Conditioning/Heating Mechanic to install, maintain, repair, and operate refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating systems across the Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital.

The role requires journeyman level experience or a valid trade school certificate in advanced HVAC, with strong ability to read schematics and coordinate with facility teams. A California driver’s license and handling up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

Three years journeyman level experience in HVAC installation/repair or trade school certificate in advanced HVAC.
Experience reading and interpreting drawings/schematics.
Knowledge of modern refrigeration, air conditioning and heating systems.

Responsibilities

Installs, maintains, repairs and operates refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating systems.
Coordinates preventive maintenance and repairs.
Interprets drawings and schematics; prepares sketches and material estimates.
Coordinates with Building Maintenance and other trades on major projects.
Drives county vehicle between facilities to respond to issues.
Lifts and transports tools and equipment as needed.
Climbs ladders and services rooftop units and other HVAC components.
Performs other related duties as required.
