Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Olympia Fields Hospital seeks an HVAC Mechanic I to perform maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across hospital facilities.

Under engineering management, you will work on chillers, pumps, cooling towers, BAS, and building automation, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred.
• Two years of HVAC or refrigeration maintenance, repair or construction field preferred.
• Two years of HVAC construction preferred.
• Two years of hospital maintenance or construction preferred.
• Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blueprints.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Certified and/or licensed in a specified trade that is relative to healthcare engineering (Steam boiler, HVAC, etc.)
• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems across hospital facilities.
• Work on chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, air handlers, BAS, and related components.
• Troubleshoot and read schematics/blueprints.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, codes, and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with the facility service team to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
