Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, IL, is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to maintain and repair hospital climate control systems, ensuring reliable temperature and air quality for patients, staff and visitors.

You will service chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, BAS, and related equipment, monitor performance, document repairs, and coordinate with the facilities team to ensure minimal downtime.

Qualifications

• Two years of HVAC or refrigeration experience preferred.
• Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and blueprints.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Certified and/or licensed in a healthcare engineering trade (e.g., Steam boiler, HVAC).
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems in hospital facilities.
• Service chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, BAS and related equipment; monitor performance and document repairs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, codes, building standards, and hospital policies; maintain safe patient environment.
• Collaborate with the facilities service team to operate, maintain, and improve HVAC systems and equipment.
