Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, seeks a Mechanic II to perform maintenance on building systems and equipment. The role ensures safe operation of mechanical and alarm systems across the campus and requires hands-on troubleshooting and repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 3+ years of general mechanical systems and equipment maintenance and repair experience.
• Healthcare facility setting experience preferred.
• D-2 or S-2 License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains hospital mechanical and alarm systems and equipment throughout the campus 24/7.
• Troubleshoots and repairs hospital mechanical and electromechanical equipment including HVAC systems, PEVCO, Honeywell, and fire alarm systems.
• Identifies major problems and reports needs to the supervisor.
• Completes and returns all work orders according to departmental guidelines.
• Assists others as workload permits.
• Maintains all tools and equipment and inspects for proper function prior to use.
• Maintains work area clean and neat per department standards.
• Participates in mandatory in-service at the hospital and updates technical skills as equipment changes.
• Keeps equipment maintenance records per departmental and regulatory requirements.
