Job summary

capecodhc is seeking a Facilities HVAC Technician to operate, troubleshoot, repair and maintain hospital HVAC and ventilation systems, including boilers and chillers. You will ensure building environmental controls are monitored and compliant with safety guidelines, while communicating via Meditech and email.

A strong background in commercial/industrial HVAC and life-safety oversight is essential. The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 5+ years in HVAC, 2+ years with Johnson Controls,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years experience in installation and maintenance of commercial/industrial HVAC.
• 2 years experience using a building environmental management system such as Johnson Controls, Siemens or Honeywell.
• Demonstrated understanding of boilers and steam plants.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Massachusetts driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, plan, install, modify, evaluate and maintain HVAC and ventilation equipment including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems.
• Provide oversight of hospital life safety systems when needed (fire alarm, sprinkler protection, medical gases, isolation/positive pressure rooms).
• Apply current codes, standards and safety practices to install and maintain hospital equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, safety checks and inspections per guidelines; repair equipment promptly.
• Monitor building management systems (DDC) to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients and staff.
• Follow departmental procedures and participate in educational programs and meetings.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Communicate efficiently via e-mail and Meditech system.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
