  • Compensation: $7.50 - $12.50 per hour plus tips

(Rates can vary by market / Tips based on service performance and customer interactions)

Position Summary

The Hospital Valet Attendant provides courteous, efficient, and safe valet parking services for patients, visitors, and hospital staff. This role ensures a seamless arrival and departure experience while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate excels in customer service, vehicle handling, and teamwork while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Primary Objective

The primary objective of the Hospital Valet Attendant is to provide courteous and efficient valet services while ensuring the safety and security of all vehicles. This includes greeting guests warmly, assisting with vehicle drop-off and retrieval, maintaining traffic flow, and handling guest inquiries professionally. The Valet Attendant is expected to operate vehicles carefully, follow company policies, and contribute to a seamless and high-quality parking experience.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspections: Conduct vehicle damage inspections and document parking locations on claim tickets.
  • Safety: Safely and efficiently park and retrieve guest vehicles while adhering to proper key handling procedures. Follow all safety protocols to maintain personal and vehicle security.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with attendance and timekeeping policies, including clocking in/out for shifts and breaks and accurately reporting tips.
  • Housekeeping: Keep valet areas clean, organized, and presentable always.
  • Customer Service and Teamwork: Handle challenging situations with professionalism, resolve problems promptly, and ensure high-quality service. Support colleagues and foster a positive team environment.
  • Attendance and Professionalism: Maintain regular attendance, arrive on time, in full uniform, and properly groomed before clocking in.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Support evolving business needs by completing other tasks as assigned, attending meetings and training, and maintaining schedule flexibility.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; customer service/administrative experience preferred; customer service attitude and helpful demeanor mandatory.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, acceptable motor vehicle record, pass and maintain a background check. No special certifications required.
  • Hospitality, Customer Service, and Communication: Provide exceptional guest service through professional communication, active listening, and personalized assistance.
  • Organizational Support and Adaptability: Follow policies, adapt to changing environments, and handle unexpected situations professionally.
  • Dependability and Safety: Follow instructions, take responsibility, adhere to schedules, and maintain safety procedures.
  • Cell Phone Use: Use personal cell phones for work-related communication as per company policy.
  • Work Environment: Collaborate with teams, vendors, and clients; perform computer and phone tasks; outdoor activities possible.
  • Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting moderate weights, and visual acuity required.

Employment Details

Employment is at-will, with either party able to end the relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, following applicable laws. A 120-day introductory period applies.

FLSA Compliance

This position is non-exempt under FLSA, eligible for overtime pay beyond 40 hours/week at 1.5x hourly rate. PMC ensures wage laws are followed, with rates meeting or exceeding minimum wages for the location. PMC complies with workers’ compensation laws.
